Poetry Corner: Miscellaneous

Feeling overwhelmed can come so easily with what is thrown at us: work, homework, misunderstandings, miscommunication, overthinking. With that in mind, take some time to relax, read some poetry and listen to some music and read some books.

Lately, I have been looking for a Sylvia Plath poetry book, but until then, I highly recommend picking one up! For music, Wet is a great NYC based indie band. Their Spotify session is incredible. You must listen to it on a late night stroll through the bustling city. That’s my favourite way to listen. As for tea, apple cider tea has been a fall essential to accompany the tea and reading. Let me know what you think of any of these suggestions.

Love, love, love

Big City

On days like these my mind cannot stop wandering,

It dances and runs until I am out of breath,

Heaving, I am falling behind to regain my step,

Yellow, red, nothingness, blurs speed past me,

Cars honk, vendors yell, big city lights

I am behind,

Big city lights,

I close my eyes,

I listen.
